This is a restorative yoga-centered training designed to help BIPOC wellness facilitators build inclusive, trauma-aware spaces grounded in their personal values. Through reflective journaling, group interaction, and embodied restorative practices, participants will gain practical tools for facilitation-- even in low-resource or unconventional environments. Rooted in Nirel's own lived experience navigating cultural safety, burnout, and boundary-setting, this workshop supports sustainable leadership and collective healing. *Yoga Alliance CEU available upon completion of training!
Sunday, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM; Nirel Salazar -Talk: The Art of Holding Space with Heart
In this talk, we explore how holding space is a radical act of care rooted in our personal and cultural values. Participants will learn to identify their core values and translate them into practical, heart-centered facilitation through the C.A.R.E.S. framework—a simple tool to build authentic, liberatory spaces. Nirel will share personal stories and offer reflection practices to deepen connection and self-awareness. This session centers BIPOC practitioners, affirming their unique leadership and encouraging rest, presence, and community-centered care. Attendees will leave empowered to hold space that truly honors themselves and their communities.
